Darron limped through the steep mountainside woods. He had been resting for days, and was finally healed enough to hobble in a manner that resembled walking. It pained him, but moving was the only way he would survive, he had been in the sun too long for his drow skin to take.
The rumbling of his stomach reminded him of how he had dined upon nothing but skinny lizards for the better part of a week. He had no weapons, so hunting would be difficult, but he now had his magical abilities back, after resting for so long.
He heard a deer moving through the brush. It would do nicely. He stopped moving, and slowed his breathing. After half an hour or so, the deer appeared on the edge of the path. He smiled, and it looked at him innocently.
He unleashed a shadow ball, hitting the deer straight in the head. It collapsed, and he had dinner.
Darron had to restrain himself from eating it raw, he was so hungry. He skinned it, removed the organs, and started a fire. He roasted its parts individually, but still ate most of it. He hadn't know that he could ever be this ravenous. The meat gave him strength, and warmed him.
This would be where he stopped today.

He had eaten most of the deer now, and was feeling better. Although it had given him more strength, he still had two broken legs, and needed a true healer to help him. He was fairly sure that there weren't any other sentient beings around, but he could at least look around. Maybe an old hermit would help him. He was so desperate that he might even take help from a human.
Then a thought struck him. He knew that there was at least one human hermit living in these mountains. He had passed the little hut of just the past week, when he was hiking up the slopes.
It would be his best hope. He hoisted himself up, grabbing some low tree branches to support himself. He took a small step to test his leg. It made a small crunching noise that was not reassuring, and he felt hot spikes going up through his leg to his brain. He almost collapsed with the pain.
This is not going to work at all, he thought to himself. It seemed hopeless. He fell back onto the ground, sighing. What was he going to do?

Kebo looked at the injured Dark Elf sadly. He was crouched in a tree a fair distance away, just close enough to see the wounded being.
When he saw that the elf was attempting to move once again he couldn't help but feel swayed to help him.
But he had to be careful not to startle him. Kebo had met elves before and knew that whether they were wood elves or dark elves, like this one, they were not very friendly to him. Silently slinking down from his perch, Kebo carefully made his way towards the elf.
Slowly coming into view, he raised his hands showing he was friendly, and said softly, as if to a child who had a scraped knee, "You need some help? Maybe Kebo help?"

Darron was genuinely taken by surprise. A goblin had stepped out of the woods, but he hadn't even sensed its presence with foresight, though it couldn't have been more than ten meters away.
He wouldn't let it show that had been taken off-guard. He stood erect, though it was incredibly painful. He had to let it know that he was ready for anything, and he wouldn't show weakness.
The goblin had offered help, and he was reluctant to accept care from such an inferior race. But it was his only chance. He sighed heavily, "Sure. I guess I do need some help. But, you will follow my directions. Clear?"
This creature had an aura about him. He sensed great power around him, though it didn't seem that powerful by the looks of the poor thing. It almost seemed as if the power wasn't his, but was channeling through him.
Darron shook the thought from his head. He was obviously too fatigued. It would explain why his foresight had failed him, and why he wasn't judging the goblin's power correctly.

"Kebo follow, yes, Kebo listen," the strange little goblin replied, and then changing the subject, "Kebo like to help. He help elves, he help humans, he help lots."
Then, almost in the same breath, he changed the subject yet again.
"So, what Kebo do to help elf friend?"

Darron nodded, satisfied that he had shown his domination.
"Good, you can gather some bark, make sure it's very hard. I'll need splints. Once you have the bark, gather anything that could be used to tie them around my legs. But before you go, you wouldn't happen to have water, by any chance, would you?"

Kebo shook his head sadly injured dark elf.
"Kebo sorry, Kebo have no water."
Then he thought for a moment and said, "But Kebo saw water further back. Kebo take you there?"
