Annabelle led Richard into the room, holding his warm hand. She helped him over to the bed, and sat him down. " There, is that better ?" Annabelle asked looking at Richard. She was still in disbelief that it was him. She felt like throwing her arms around him and hugging him, but knew that would just cause him pain. She felt sorry that he had to go threw such pain. " Richard, I was wondering, what were you going to ask me back there? While we were walking through town. " Annabelle asked, sitting in a chair near the bedside.

RIchard closed his eyes and sighed lightly. He felt better already. When he spoke, he spoke softly in a deep voice. "I... I need to know," the man paused, opening his eyes, staring at the ceiling, "do you... do you even like me?" It was difficult question, because his life depended on it. He couldn't go on without her. He wasn't sure if she was kindly and helping a sick man, out piety, or reallly helping the man she loved. Richard couldn't tell.

" Richard....I..." Annabelle felt like she was choking on a marble. The words were stuck in her mouth, and wouldn't come to her. " Richard..." Annabelle felt a slight blush appear on her cheeks, as she leaned forward to Richard and kissed him.

Surprise was first to come over Richard and then relief, followed by pure love. The kiss seemed to last longer than it actually did and afterwards he sat and watched at Annabelle. He wanted to say things, but thought it would ruin the magical moment. A spark suddenly ran over Richard's arm and jumped over on Annabelle. It hadn't been a strong one, more a slight tease. Richard couldn't help it, being emotionally charged as he was.

Annabelle laughed from the shock, remembering the day when they were reunited. Annabelle held Richard's warm hand, untwining her fingers with his. She looked up at Richard with ber baby blue eyes, knowing that her understood her feelings toward him, even if she didn't say anything.

Richard smiled, and looked at this beautiful woman who'd just kissd him. He shifted in the bed and leaned over in turn to kiss her on the cheek, softly. Then he laid his head down on a pillow. "I must sleep a little. Are you going to watch over me?" he asked childishly.

Annabelle smiled at Richard. " Yes. I will be right here when you wake up." Annabelle said holding his hand. She watched him drift off to sleep. " Sleep well Richard." Annabelle kissed him on the forehead.

Richard mumbled something that sounded like "I will..." before falling into a sound sleep. He rolled over, frowning and his mouth opened a little. Moving still hurt a little, but he slept through it. After a minute someone knocked on the door. It didn't wake Richard who was dreaming a sweet dream, smiling.

Annabelle watched over Richard as he slept, making sure nothing went wrong. Annabelle then hear a knock at the door, rose to her feet, and walked over to the door. " Coming." Annabelle called. She opened the door to see her good friend Marric. " Hello Marric." Annabelle said smiling.

"Hi," Marric said, shyly. He looked much better already, which probably meant he wasn't a stranger to drinking. The strong man rubbed his shoulder and thought of something to say. "I didn't know you'd be here already, uhm. How is he?" he was being awkward, because of shame for his previous behaviour, and another feeling, much more dangerous.

" Please come in." Annabelle said opening the door a bit wider, allowing Marric to enter. Annabelle then shut the door behind Marric. She walked beside him. " He still feels pain, but Zoltan took care of the wound. He was exhausted, and almost fell to the ground while walking up the stairs to the room." Annabelle said looking over at Richard with a smile. " I glad he is alright though." Annabelle said smiling, then looking up at Marric. " And do you feel well?" Annabelle asked.

Marric looked over at Richard and smiled. He was actually glad that he was back with Annabelle, so he knew he had no shot at all. It was a strange kind of relief. It hurt him to be free. The shepherd turned to the woman and cleared his throat. "Actually I came to repay the room you bought me," as he said this, he took some silver bits out of his pouch and put them in his palm. he held out the coins for Anna to take them.

Annabelle pushed Marric's hand away. " Please, just seeing you better is enough pay. " Annabelle smiled, looking up to the shepard. " Just promise me that you will take care of youself, Marric." Annabelle said sweetly.

Reluctantly, Marric put away the silver. He didn't like to owe anybody anything. He smiled though. She cared for him, he thought. But she loved Richard, he felt it. "You two just take care of eachother and worry not about me," Marric's voice shook once when he spoke and he cursed himself for it. He grabbed hold of Annabelle's shoulder and squeezed it in a friendly way, before turning around and walking to the door. "I'll leave you."

Annabelle walked Marric to the door. " Take care Marric." Annabelle said waving to him as she watched him walk away. Annabelle shut the door behind her, returning to Richard's side. Annabelle was still worried a bit about Richard's health, so to occupy her worried mind she decided to make him something to eat.

Richard rolled over again, but this time the pain did wake him. He shouted himself awake, quickly twisted into a position that felt comfortable and laughed. "Oh boy," he sighed, "I feel thrice my age," he mocked himself. His positivity surprised even himself. He looked around to see if Anna was there.

Annabelle rushed in hearing Richard shout, placing the tray of food on the bedside table. " Richard !" Annabelle ran to his side. She had a fear struck face. " Are you alright? Is something wrong?" Annabelle quickly spat out, you could tell she was worried sick about Richard.

Richard was suddenly fearstruck himself because of Anna's bombastic entrance. He paled a little and then he croaked: "I'm fine." He sat and watched Annabelle for a second, with her heaving chest, red eyes and wild hairs, and the man couldn't help but laugh his heart out. He laughed so hard it hurt, but liked it nonetheless. After the laughter, Richard noticed the food and said: "Is that for me?" with a weak voice, ready to start laughing again at the most stupid joke.

" Richard, that wasn't funny." Annabelle said, a bit agrivated at the laughing Richard. Yet, at the same time Annabelle understood why Richard was laughing. She began to laugh herself. " I am sorry Richard, I didn't mean to become so worked up." Annabelle said after her laughing fit. She took a seat besides Richard on the bed, passing him his tray of food. The delicious scent of beef stew filled the room, along with a fresh small loaf of bread. " Yes, this is for you. I made it while you were sleeping so that when you awoke you would have something to feed your hunger." Annabelle said sweetly.

"Hunger," Richard repeated, his eyes shining with mischief. He tore a piece from the bread and put it in his mouth. With his mouth full, he mumbled: "oh... I seriously underestimated the size of this piece... of bread." He made silly faces, trying to chew. Frowning, he finally made it through and sighed deeply. The chewing sent some pain through his body, but he could stand it. "Thanks you," he said, almost shyly all of a sudden. Then he started to eat the rest of his dinner, so lovingly prepared.
