Anyways...a great game. There is a free trial but if you decide to stick around its $15 a month to play, plus buying the core game and all the expansions puts you out $60ish. Its an expensive habit and they release new expansions roughly 3 times a year so they keep dipping into your wallets, but hey I have been playing for 5 years so that shows you how addictive it is ;-)
Anyway, if any of you ever try it out and decide to play on The Seventh Hammer server, look me up. My two primary characters are a Barbarian Shaman named Grudus and an ogre warrior named.... Keros ;-)

Yep $15 bucks every month to keep playing. But the catch is unlike a game you pay for once and "beat" only to shelf it and let it collect dust. EQ is constantly evolving and in my 5 years of playing I STILL haven't seen or done everything there is in Everquest...probably less than ahlf of what is out there. But it is an expensive addiction lol. I have two accounts (its called botting so you can play 2 characters at once) and my wife has her own account so it costs me about $45 a month to play. Then next month the newest expansion gets released so it will cost me another $60 because you have to have the expansion with each account... yeah too expensive really. The good thing is though that I hardly ever buy any other games except a few titles on PS2 like final fantasy series because it keeps me occupied so much.

I've heard it's a great game.
There's a song about it (probably more than one) by "Less Than 3" Called "I'm Addicted to Everquest"
So I know a bit about it, and then almost any gaming comic you read will mention it, haha. It does sound like fun, but I doubt I could scrounge up that much money. It is an expensive habit. So I stick to some of the free/cheaper mmorpg

well, I know a few text-based ones. I think the link is: www.ironrealms.com/#They're pretty fun. It's text-based, so not the best. But if you like this, you should like them. Then there's runescape. It's quite popular. I haven't played in a while, but it's not bad. A lot of people say it's really stupid, and at points it is. Though for five bucks a month you can get a members account and those are nifty. Then there's that adventure quest thing. I haven't played much of it. They aren't all the best, but that's because they're free. It's good if you don't feel like sparing money.

I don't play so much, the loader is really bad on my computer, which has been getting older. A few years now, so I don't load up much for games anymore. Which is a shame, since I love gaming.

Escape to Norrath?
Its the free trial version. Its the exact same tutorial that you have in the full game. Only problem is with the free trial, unless they have changed it, you cant level up past 10 or leave the tutorial. But you will still get lots of fun out of Krenshin the pit fiend and Overlord Grinakn. I always run my characters through the tutorial because it is actually faster paced and more fun then just starting them in their own starting cities.
But yes, the game is addictive, very much so. They announced the new expansion (The Serpant's Spine) will be released on 9-19 so that week I am out $90 to upgrade all three accounts, but its worth it because its the largest expansion to date and they are adding in new player races and such. Will make for a lot of wasted time ;-)

... Everquest stole my grandmother.
No lie, my sixty-one year old grandmother plays a seventy-five level Druid named Twintime on the... Fenin Ro server, I think.
Personally, I find the game lame. No motivation to do anything.
