My friend has it and played it a few... He says that its alright, but that WoW is better.
To quote my friend...
"Meh.. at least WoW is easier to solo in. I'm lvl 16 and I can't even handle two lvl'd 11 guys...
(blah blah blah)"
And he ranted off about how he didn't want to quest with other players to do quests that the monsters level is way low for him... and then ranted off about how it would be impossible to solo a quest around his level =O.
In my opinion... if you're not picky, go pick it up... but if you are... you'd be a bit disappointed.. but hey ;o No monthly fee... ::nods:: right? right? =)

i play it, and i can solo almost the entire world except for the missions and some quests, i can even solo Under World, which is the hardest part, so your friend is just not good at it, it ROCKS way better then WoW i actually stopped playing WoW and now only play Guild wars but it might be that having 4 lvl 20 chars (max lvl is 20) that have been trough the entire story did all quests there are, and explored the entire map, will help you when you try to get experience with the game. and yes it's harder then WoW, but not less fun, i like it when the game gives me a challenge. if everything is easy, it's no fun at all.

Which game?
I have Prophecies.
That Fenfer guy is/was crazy. >.> WoW sucks. The only MMORPGs worth playing are EQ2, FFXI, and GW.

No one plays final fantasy eleven any longer, sad but true. I used to like it, though it was expensive to have more than a few characters... But with the severe population decrease it's gone astray, for me.
I play final fantasy twelve now (I actually bought a playstation for it) and though it's not multiplayer, I love it! It's got the mmo-feel, because of your freedom to go and explore the world, searching for Espers (summons). You can go on hunts and climb to the top of the hunter clan.
You can stay in a particular place to level up and stuff, because of the new battle system where you can see all your enemies and choose which one to take on first or try to avoid. But, there's always a challenge because ffXII has the habit of throwing a tough monster, challenging for your level, in with the regular ones. The game has amazing graphics for ps2, great acting (voice) and a sweet storyline that keeps you hooked to your screen.
Also: Has anyone played LOTR: Shadows of Angmar yet? Or read the new book Children of Hurin? (Cause I haven't)

Yay final fantasy!
You make me happy, Zoltan. I've been *really really* wanting to play the Final Fantasy XI, but I haven't got the money to buy the game/subscribe. So I make do with my meager gameboy advance copy of FFI and FFII. I bought the Dawn of Souls collection, and I love it. But I really wanna try.... all of the others.
sorry... [/fanboy]
